Our Story

Three Generations of Love for the Land

What began as a family farm in the 1960s has become one of the Caribbean's most distinctive agritourism destinations -- a place where the deep roots of agricultural tradition meet the refined art of luxury hospitality.

Our Journey

The Story So Far

1960s

The Roots

The Pradera family establishes a small agricultural farm in the hills of Margarita Island, growing coffee, cacao, and tropical fruits. The land becomes a cherished part of the family legacy.

2005

A New Vision

Third-generation heir Elena Pradera returns from hospitality studies abroad with a dream: to share the magic of her family's land with the world while preserving its agricultural heritage.

2010

Doors Open

After five years of thoughtful renovation and planning, Finca La Pradera welcomes its first guests. The original farmhouse becomes Villa El Rancho, and the agritourism concept takes shape.

2018

Growing Roots

The finca expands with three additional accommodation units, a culinary pavilion, and enhanced organic farming operations. Chef Gabriela Montero joins as Executive Chef.

2023

Recognition

Finca La Pradera receives the Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Award and is featured in Conde Nast Traveler as one of the region's most distinctive agritourism destinations.

Our Mission

To create transformative hospitality experiences that honor the land, celebrate local culture, and nourish every guest who walks through our gates.

Our Vision

To be recognized as the Caribbean's leading agritourism destination -- proof that luxury and sustainability are not opposites but natural partners.

What Guides Us

Our Values

Authenticity

Every experience at Finca La Pradera is genuine. We do not create a performance of farm life; we invite you into the real rhythm of our land and our community.

Sustainability

We are stewards of this land. Every decision -- from our organic farming practices to our energy systems -- is guided by our responsibility to leave the earth better than we found it.

Community

We source locally, employ from our community, and invest in the social fabric of Margarita Island. When you stay with us, you support an entire ecosystem of local families and artisans.

Our Commitment

Sustainability Is Not a Feature. It Is Our Foundation.

We believe that luxury hospitality and environmental responsibility are not competing interests. Every aspect of Finca La Pradera -- from how we grow our food to how we power our facilities -- reflects our commitment to the health of this land for generations to come.
